Burglars Can't Be Choosers
The first of Lawrence Block's enjoyable "Burglar" sequence of novels and one of those stories you find yourself idly casting as you go along. I had Cary Grant circa "To Catch A Thief" as Bernie and Kate Winslet circa "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" as Ruth/Ellie. Contains the answer to the question "How do you find the name of a bit-part film extra in an age before IMDB?". Bonus points for the Watergate gag too.
